Notes

  • Monitor consuption is based on standard 17 inches LCD monitors. Monitor consumption is calculated only for PCs and Thin Clients, not for servers

  • Standard PCs considered have an idle power comsumption of 186 W,

  • Standard Notebooks considered have an idle power consumption of 55 W

  • Standard Servers considered are the most sold in Italy, with an idle power consumption of 520 W. It's been considered the scenario where it is kept on for 365 days a year. Energy consumption calculated also include the power needed to cool them down, that's typical double of what is needed to power it up.

  • Standard Thin Clients considered have an idle power consumption of 15 W.

  • We've considered an idle time of PCs, Notebooks and Thin Client of 8 hours a day for 261 days a year. We intentionally left behind the power consumption of stand-by mode gadgets.

  • Italian power stations, in order to produce a single kWh, throw in the atmosphere 0,65-0,85 kg of CO2. Conversion parameter is 0,75.

  • We intentionally calculated that laptops won't be replaced by Thin Clients. A complete analysis of a real workplace would find the best combination of Thin Clients and laptops, based on real power needed.

  • Green servers would be managed oustide, that would mean no energy consumption for your business.

  • Energy consumption for green servers is calculated over renewable energy , so no emissions is considered.
